Become a Friend

Pātaka has a renowned and respected place in New Zealand’s art scene, with an international reputation, as well as being Porirua’s cultural hub.

Friends of Pātaka

The Friends of Pātaka was established to stimulate enjoyment and understanding of the range of exhibitions and activities that Pātaka presents.

The gallery benefits all who visit but as a Friend you have the opportunity to become more closely engaged and informed about Pātaka's exhibitions and events - you’re encouraged to visit often.

Friends are provided with a range of special opportunities. These include invitations to Pātaka’s openings, and special curator or artist floor talks where you can talk to the artists, as well as to Friends’ own events.

You’ll join a group of people from around the region who love Pātaka and share your passion for arts and culture in Porirua City and the wider region.

Friends receive:

  • A 10% discount at Pātaka’s Toi Store
  • Invites to Pātaka’s exhibition openings
  • Free events – curator or artist floor talks and interesting speakers
  • Free admission to our great annual Winter Music Series
  • Annual visits to other galleries and exhibitions
  • Newsletters, Facebook posts and emails, keeping you up to date with Pātaka’s and Friends’ events, as well as those in our region that might interest members.
