Emma Panting’s narrative portraits are inspired by the colourful biographical stories of Marlborough textile artist, Peg Moorhouse, whose hand-woven pieces will accompany Emma’s work.

Gentle as the Dream She Weaves reveals facets of this remarkable near-centenarian, weaving together Peg’s fascinating history and affinity with her loom, and Emma’s paintings of her friend and fellow artist.

Based in Nelson, Emma’s portraits have been selected to tour the country for the prestigious NZ Portrait Gallery’s Adam Award, and her works are held in collections in Europe, America and New Zealand.
