Maui the Mischief Maker

In this pre-recorded event, storyteller and award-winning writer Moira Wairama shares one of the many tales of Māui-tikitiki-a-Taranga, possibly the most famous mischief maker across all of Te Moana-nui-a-Kiwa.

The storytelling will also feature the enchanting music of harpist Karen Jones. Moira Wairama is a Wellington storyteller specialising in bi-lingual telling's of Māori legends and in creating original New Zealand stories. She is an award winning writer for children in both English and Māori and also writes for radio and theatre. Her most recent book Arapū Toi illustrated by Austin Whincup was a finalist in the 2020 NZ Children’s Book awards.
