One hundred years ago 60,000 Indians were brought to Fiji based on a promise too good to be true. In partnership with The Fiji Girmit Foundation NZ and Pātaka Art + Museum.
Nadia Freeman presents this experimental storytelling piece using live electronic music, song and poetry alongside Jack Kirifi, Moses Viliam and Zac Mateo’s The Cry of The Stolen People exhibit, to build awareness of the history of slavery in the Pacific and the modern slavery that persists globally today.
