Toi Korero with Pip Steel

Exploring the history of Japanese boro stitching

Saturday 15 January | 11am – 11.45am
Daylight Gallery - Boro Exhibition

Discover the fascinating history of boro with artist and curator Pip Steel.

Pip will talk to her substantial collection including 19th century silk dolls, sake straining bags and garments worn by farmers and workers; work jackets, work aprons, Japanese socks and mittens. Come and celebrate the remarkable tradition of caring for what we already have—a philosophy that is beautifully expressed in these textiles. Check out the Boro exhibition here.
