‘Ways of Seeing’ poetry workshop.

Sunday 23 April

9.30am -12pm
Toi Gallery

A Friends of Pātaka sponsored event

Writer and creative writing teacher Lynn Davidson will lead a poetry workshop, in response to Elisabeth Vullings’ ‘Lines of Sight’ exhibition currently showing in Toi gallery. ‘Lines of Sight’ explores the history of lighthouses in New Zealand, and the works are a mix of architectural, found, and recuring elements. In this workshop you will explore how these same elements are used to make a poem. You will visit the ‘Lines of Sight’ exhibition and wonder if a poem is also a type of lighthouse, a beam, a way of seeing, and  will write your own poems. Suitable for both new and more experienced writers 16 years and older.

There are a limited number of places available

To purchase your ticket, please pay $5 direct transfer to:  02-1269-00301780-000, Reference: Pataka poetry.

About the tutor: Lynn Davidson is a past teacher of the Whitireia Creative Writing Programme in Porirua and has held creative writing workshops in Aotearoa, Australia and Scotland.
