Nandita Kumar is a new-media artist who creates immersive environmental spaces using sound, video, animation and digital technology.
Her installations, interactive sculptures and animations seamlessly integrate new media, highlighting contradictions within the techno-industrial revolution and natural landscape.
Pātaka will be exhibiting two of Nandita’s short films: Birth of BrainFly – a surreal exploration of the fragmentation of identity the artist experienced when she migrated from India to New Zealand; and Tentacles of Dimensions – another surreal journey of a brain, now unplugged from its cultural programming and indulging purely in the senses.
Both films include adult content, discretion is advised.
