Art Awards 2017

The Pātaka Friends Art Awards is an annual exhibition that is made up of entries from artists working or studying in Porirua and produced in the 12 months leading up to the exhibition. Artists working in the areas of photography, ceramics, painting and sculpture have featured strongly in previous years, but all manner of media can be used.

Prizes for this year’s art awards include

• $1000 Open Award sponsored by The Smith Family
• $750 Highly Commended Award sponsored by Tommy’s Realty
• $750 Jane Hyder Painting Award
• The Creativity and Promise Award: 6 month Level 4 Certificate Programme at The Learning Connexion
• $500 Viewers Choice Award

Key dates

• 7 August: Deadline for registration/entry
• 24 August: Opening and announcement of awards
• 25 August – 25 September 2017: exhibition open to the public
• 24 September: Viewers Choice Award announcement
