TOAST is an annual celebration of graduate works from the Whitireia Bachelor of Applied Arts programme. The best creative works from each media will come together at Bottle Creek gallery as a showcase for community, local businesses and public art followers. In 1990 the original Porirua arts gallery first promoted Whitireia student talent to the Porirua community, and this year’s exhibition reflects the community focus shared by both Whitireia and Pataka Art + Museum.
Twenty four arts degree graduates will show their talents in design, photography, animation, contemporary jewellery, eco sustainable textiles, printmaking and mixed media; and works will be for sale. Several of this year’s students have received accolades and awards in national craft design and photography competitions. Further awards and scholarship winners will be announced at the opening.
TOAST opens on Friday 14 November at Bottle Creek Gallery, at 6-8pm.
