Spring

The artists in this exhibition have created works in response to Spring in a rich variety of materials and approaches.

Inspired by the beauty of the natural world, each artist has attempted to capture something of the optimism and vitality that characterises this time of year; a time of new growth, vibrant blossoms, baby animals and hope.

Lisa West creates colourful blossoms in vivid acrylic on stainless wire while Tania Patterson crafts articulated jewellery with delicate sprouts of silver emerging from wooden buds.

Jo McLean’s charming new born animals, bursting with all the playfulness of springtime, have a nostalgic quality that reminds us of our own childhoods.

Using multiple layers of digital photographs, Susan Cleaver creates scenes of texture, dimension and colour that celebrate new growth and fresh beginnings.

Marie Harding uses handmade felt to create funky floral brooches with stitched detail.
