Kiribati Language Week 2022

The Wellington Kiribati Sports Club Inc is a group of young and active members including their parents residing in Porirua with some members living in the Kapiti Coast and the Hutt. The younger members are either born Kiribati-Kiwi or have come to New Zealand at a very young age. The Club promotes fitness and health through playing volleyball as well as basketball games and tournaments arranged locally and nationally within the Kiribati and other Pacifica sports communities in Aotearoa.

Through these interactions, the Club strengthens the Kiribati language, culture, and identity which are being reinforced through important events such as the Kiribati language week and Independence celebrations.
