This exhibition celebrates the customary practices of toi Māori in carving and weaving. Artist and tutor Kohai Grace joins with her graduates and present students of Whitireia’s Toi Poutama weaving and carving programmes to present their new works.
New work, new beginnings – this collection, titled Turuturu (weaving pegs) captures the spirit of the new year with the rise of Matariki in June, to be celebrated at Pataka in 2015.
