Exhibition

Migrating Kitchen

22 October - 8 November 2015

Bottle Creek Gallery Official opening: Thursday 22 October at 5.30pm Migrating Kitchen - Spotlight on Cultures

This exhibition, Spotlight on Cultures , draws on the theme of UNESCO’s International Year of the Light 2015. Using the medium of film and photography as well as interactive activities, young and old refugees and migrants tell why it is important to continue with their festivals, food and rituals in their adopted country. A youth section in the gallery is to engage young people to reflect on their cultural identity through photographs & short films. There will be a photo competition for young people judged on the last day of the exhibition.

Weekend lunchtime ‘talk & taste’ cooking demos are a special feature of the exhibition, taking place on weekends 12-1pm.
