Whare Manaaki

Porirua Women's Refuge Joining the Pieces

22 July - 21 August 2016

 Bottle Creek Gallery

This exhibition is a celebration of survival and an acknowledgement of the strength and courage of women and children in our community.

Whare Manaaki Porirua Women’s Refuge, in partnership with Te Whare Tiaki Wahine Refuge and Porirua Living Without Violence (PLWVS), is exhibiting art by the women and children survivors of domestic violence. The aim is to create a platform for survivors to be heard with dignity and lift the shade on domestic violence.

The exhibition will showcase art created by the women and children on the PLWVS programmes, staff and volunteers from the two Porirua refuges and PLWVS, Arohata Women’s Prison and committed members of the public.
